Volunteer participation is essential to our success. Apply your talents and effort toward a tribute to the Abolitionist Movement.

Volunteering for the Abolitionist Park of Fitchburg gives you the opportunity to:

  • Connect with like-minded people who are interested in the Abolitionist Movement

  • Be part of history

  • Understand what it takes to create a commemorative park

  • Enhance the community of Fitchburg and surrounding areas

  • Apply your skills toward something new

Below are our primary areas of need. Don't hesitate to sign up as a volunteer even if you're not an exact fit in these categories. We'll work with you to find a way to apply your time and resources to benefit the cause.

Join a Committee

Our Committees allow volunteers to dig into their areas of interest and include: Historical accuracy, Fundraising, Marketing, and Park Vision and Design.

Help Build the Park

We need some volunteers that are boots-on-the-ground help. Join a clean-up day, volunteer at the Juneteenth and other special events.

Donate Resources

The creation of a park involves everything from landscaping to grant writing. We are looking for people who have the resources and talent to help develop the park.
